What Those Attending Say About the Workshops:

“I just wanted to let everyone know that I went to one of the Workshops in Reading yesterday morning and found it a really useful opportunity to discuss the many and varied questions and concerns that i had about having a hysterectomy. Laura made a great workshop leader because she happens to be a nurse who has had a hysterectomy herself. Best of all, she had a very positive attitude and reassured us that this and getting a bit fitter prior to, and doing exercise after, the op had all helped her with the best possible recovery. It was a great chance to ask about what to take to hospital, driving and insurance, hair removal pre-op or not, how much help might be needed during recovery, can we do stairs straight away etc. All the questions we all ask in the forums in fact but face to face with others in a similar situation, and all in one go! I’d recommend going to anyone and you don’t have to be in Berkshire to attend, in our small group we’d come from Middlesex and Bucks. Well done Laura and I hope that others will set up similar groups/workshops in other parts of the country. Do support the workshops/local groups, as they are an invaluable resource.” Lindsay

“I think the meeting helped me realise just how big this operation is going to be and like you said ‘could be life changing’. The discussions that took place really did open my eyes and I know I looked shell shocked but have managed to take in a lot of the information and have made some more notes. After leaving you yesterday I drove straight home and promptly when to the pub for lunch and a large glass of wine, this as you can image helped me relax. I have managed to discuss and pass on some information to Matt, my husband, which helps. I have also managed to face up and talk to Matt about how stressed and depressed I feel from time to time and have started taking ‘St Johns Wort’ as suggested. I would like to thank you again for yesterday and will keep in contact.” Sue
