Hi Kia. You can try Dr Foster for information - it's the best listing of consultants and hospitals.

SILS, how can I find a specialist that carried out this procedure on the NHS in my area (Hampshire/Dorset border BH25) please?
Your urgent reply would be very much appreciated as I have to make a decision this Thursday.
Many thanks

I just read your post. What sort of job do you do that you were able to return 4 days after having what is still major surgery? You have 8 children, which sounds like full time job to me, is your career job also full time? I have now been of 3.5 weeks and still nowhere near being ready to return to work, tummy looks like I am 6 months preggy at the moment.

Glad it's all going so well. Four days, OMG.

I underwent a Hysterectomy 21st Janurary 2010 , at King Edward Hospital, I had a vaginal hysterectomy and my ovaries are still in place. As for recovery I have had no problem so far I was mobile and comfortable by the second day , I left hopital 1-1/2 days after the procidure and Attended my step daughters wedding that afternoon I returned to work on very light duties on the 25th Janurary and am feeling very good I get a little tierd at times but I don't think it is to do with the surgury I have eight children and the last two are 4 and two years old and occaiccionally wake at night , so as far as I feel for me the hysterectomy was great..
