It is still a bit of a taboo subject and many women can be surprised that when they do eventually mention it that so many others come out of the closet as it were. It also suffers from a very poor self image; when asked, most people would say that they think hysterectomy only happens to women who are elderly, but the reality is that most occur between the ages of 30 and 50. I've just now found your website. Having another sleepless night worrying about my op which is booked in for next Monday 14th april. I've been trying to find info on the op and found your website to be the most informative. I had a lot of questions and found answers to a lot of them here. I must admit that now that the day is so near i find that i'm getting more and more scared. No-body seems to know much about it and the ones that do don't seem to want to talk about it.
