A Laparoscopic Total Hysterectomy is similar to a Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy in that most of the work is done via three cuts in the abdomen, however it differs because it involves removing the cervix as well. It could also be similar to a vaginal hysterectomy in that if the womb is not too large then it can be removed vaginally. The top of vagina will be stitched closed and the top, of the vagina, is then supported by tying the uterosacral ligaments to the top as well. All stitching is performed via the laparascopic instruments.
